hi,just joined the forum hopefully to pick up hints and learn from the experienced members in order to become a good,professional tiler! Completed an 8wk tiling course at the master tiling school,really good on hands course.Worked for 3wks for a building company,tiling the wall and floors in council renovated houses,more quantity than quality!Got 2 ads in local papers and Yell.com and writing/calling to local builders to drum up work.Got my first real job in feb. 50msq ceramic floor tiling!Any comments on getting work would be welcome thanks.

welcome to the forums,thats a good big job for your first paying job ,i mhope its nice and easy for you.As for druming up business,try all free advertising first but the best form of advertising is word of mouth.Try telling everyone you know that yyou are now tiling ,get van sign written,give out cards at the houses round about where you are working,free advertising on yell.com,get t-shirts printed,advertise in local shops,contact local tile shops with cream cakes and butties in your hand for a sweetener,basically try anything that doesnt cost money at first and if it doesnt work then advertise in local papers which will cost anything between 25-80quid per week depending on where you are in GB.All the best bud.
