Hi I neeed Help on getting rid of the epoxy smears on my newley laid floor tiles

Hi Jill, welcome to Tilers Forums. How long have the tiles been down for and is it definately Epoxy grout that was used?

I would use Aqua Mix Sealer & Coating remover, this will remove the epoxy grout haze.

Hi Jill

Same advice as Enduro...Use the Aqua Mix product ....let it dwell on the surface for ~10 minutes, then start scraping with a razor blade and scrubbing with a scotch brite pad.

ENDURO & ROB Z, Thanks so much for your advice will try and get the product --will I bwe able to get it like from home depo or lowes places like that? I live in the USA now but was from England Nottingham actually. The epoxy is not thick on tiles just smears and spots thin ones it looks like and my tiles have only been laid a few days----never going to use that spectra- loc again big mistake---Thanks have a great day x

Just curious, where in the US?

If this is Spectralock, get some white vinegar and some white scotch brights ASAP. Pour on the vinegar and start scrubbing and scrapping with the raqzor blades. Rinse, shop vac the residue, and repeat. If it is only 4 days you might be able to get it.

Lowes and HD don't carry Aqua Mix products anymore (at least not here in the DC area). You'd have to go to a tile store more than likely.

I have used thousands of units of Spectralock, so if you want to ever try it again I'll be happy to coach you through how to use it successfully.

RobZ can probably point you to a stockist then, the only shop in america that I know the name of is wallmart :lol: and I doubt they sell it there.

OLI, LOL...the only things that they have at Walmart are made in China.:mad2: Fortunately for now, Aqua Mix products are still made in the US!

It funny actually Rob, when wallmart bought ASDA a uk supermarket chain everyone got really exited, god only knows why because its still called ASDA and still sells the same stuff, im not really sure what people thought was going to happen :lol:

Oli, Walmart fills a certain niche here in the US market...one that I don't need . I'd rather take a beating than go to WalMart.:mad2:
