Hi, need to tank shower cubicle prior to tiling - one wall was our old outside wall

- the back wall was our old outside wall, which has been plastered and I have put up sheets of marine ply on each of the other two sides so the shower will be fully fitted. Looking at tanking products - would the BAL WP1 coating work? Can i paint it all over - I have tape round the edge of the shower tray.

I have browsed the site and got some good advice but first time I have a specific question

Hello and welcome to the forum.

A little bit more info please. As Dave says, what tiles are you planning to use? As Dontiler says ply really isnt a good material to use in a wet area as it will swell and contract to much with moisture. How thick is the ply?

My reason for asking is that ply will only support 25kg per mtr and even less once tanking paste is applied.. and as above expansion issues etc apply as well.. deffo not the best substrate in a wet environment.
