Hi,I'm a contract tiler with mosaic restoration experience. I need some advice on removing and refitting sanitary wear in an occupied house, ensuite currently carpeted however carpet being replaced with tiles. I can see an isolator valve on the toilet but not the basin. Should i leave to professional plumber of is this easy to carry out myself? (minimal plumbing experince)
any help apprecieted

If you have little experience with plumbing then I wouldn't go trying this in a clients house. it could prove costly.

definately get a plumber,also do you have insurance to carry out this type of work in domestic homes?

Welcome along to TF. That job is 2 hrs max, the price quoted is far too steep IMO.

ive quoted a similar job this week, and will be leaving the removal of the toilet and basin to my trusted plumber, as i have no P.L.I to cover me to take on such work, and i would suggest you do the same, if you are not insured..

Tbh £150 sounds fair. You will generally only find an isolator on the toilet as it's required. For everything else you will need to isolate at the mains or the tank. Do you know if the system is direct or indirect? By that I mean is it fed through the mains or by a storage tank?
