hi....please help

i have had my quartz starlight tiles laid,but just can not get the smears off them.i have cleaned and buffed them but still smears.i got them from tilehq they said they didnt need sealing??if anyone has got any idea why please reply.any help or advice would be great.thankyou.x

What are you cleaning them with...


and no quartz don't normally need sealing..

just cleaned them with warm water and a little washing up liquid and buffed the with a mico fibre cloth....dont know what im doing wrong??thanks for the reply

Thats your problem.. don't use washing up liquid...


A product like LTP wash wax is better.. soap etc leaves a greasy hard to remove smear..

Yes, quartz can look like that when you look down on them, t hey do not give a mirror finish like porcelain etc... the resin can only be polished to a certain degree.

Hi, that looks like some grout residue.... or shall i say polymer residue from grouting..

Call your installer back..

can i just use that on them now or will i have to get rid of the soap smears first? or will that sort it all out? sorry to be a pain but im new to this forum

oh dear hes gone and cant get in touch with him.....as he messed them up or can it be sorrted out with someting... thats why hes done a runner!!!!! omg!!

Don't panic!!!!! .. it can be sorted with a wash over with the correct solution to dissolve the residue... nothing major

There are a couple cleaners that will suffice, but if you r ing LTP in th emorning ans then email those pics to them, they will confirm to you the right one...

More than likely be power stripper or solvex.... and you can get the wash wax whilst ordering LTP Online | Cleaning Products

One of the said liquids above and use a white scotch pad to emulsify the residue.. all these including the pad can be sought direct from LTP...

update....i phoned ltp and there sending me some samples of there products to try.they were very helpful so......fingers crossed.......
