Hi folks,

I am looking at a job doing wet rooms. I have used the WP1 before, pretty straightforward I thought.
Any people have any comments on the use of the matting? One question I have is what adhesive can you use with it, does it have to be flexible cement based? Or could you use tub gear?

The walls I'm looking at are currently sand and cement, would that alter your choice of waterproofing? Or would the advice be to backer board the lot first? They might want to plasterboard instead (some walls are not yet rendered you see)

Many thanks

Bob

I would use a flexi powdered addy not the tubbed stuff, If the walls are sand and cement why would want to put backer/ plasterboard on the walls......!

Hi

If wanting to do a good secure job then the membrane system is the right direction to be going in.

Homelux system is as you will of seen pretty basic and not altogether cheap I think a 5m2 kit averages around £85.00 where as the durabase Pro tanking kit wiil cost around £100.

The differences are quite straight forward,

1, Durabase does not have a floor and wall mat they make 1 for both jobs so it saves you an extra 50 bucks,

2, Durabase is made for the professional installer tapes and collars are flexible so will not tear with movement or settlement of a building or floor.

3, Wetdecs know what they are doing we are not here just for profit we are here to help make a good job

The durabase tanking system needs fixing with a flexible Cementicious adhesive

If you need any help at all then you only need ask

Some of the walls weren't rendered yet, so I wasn't sure to advise whetehr they render or board them out you see.

I have checked out the durabase matting, cheers Wetdecs. What kind of discount for buying 100m2 worth?

Thanks a lot
Bob
