How do I get grout off amitco tiles?

Hi
I've just an amtico floor laid in my kitchen, it is the contour range which uses the grout.

How do I get the grout off the tiles without damaging them? They seem to be a dull greyish colour now?!

It is my kitchen floor which is above the cellar and pretty cold. I've tried to keep it at the correct temperature for laying the tiles....however will the coldness have an effect on the floor when it's cold in winter?

I would have paid for a professional fitter to lay the floor but that's not very easy in the remote part of france I'm living in. Sorry if you find the questions really basic , I just need a little advice.

So your saying that you've applied, and removed the excess but that it's left a haze ? how long has it been applied ? and how did you clean it off to start with ?

Hey Alan

That's exactly right, grouted on Monday just used sponge and water to take off excess as we worked and changed the water regularly. Then Tuesday we scrubed it off vigorously with a nail brush and tried with white spirit. On the tub of easygrout it said to use a trowel which my brother used however I've since found out I should have applied it a white scotch sponge. We didn't get much on the tiles, it just seems to have spread and looks dull and greyish.

Should I opt for turps or may it damage it? I understand there has been a problem with these bloody contour grouted tiles and that they stain easily, any tips of the trade to help?
