Hi

I am not a professional tiler but have done quite a bit of tiling over the years and have had no issues.

My latest project has involed using some glass mosaic tiles, they were bought from porcelanosa and were in sheets of around 30cm x 30cm.

Each indidual tile on the sheet is small but they are not joined by a mesh they are covered in a sheet of thin plastic!

I was advised to use fix and grout adhesive which I have done, but one week later when trying to peel the plastic off I have found that some of the mosaics are coming away from the adhesive as it has not dried properly in places (possibly because of the plastic?).

Has anybody got any advice on how I rectify the problem or a better approach to fixing them?

Thanks in advance

Croweman, hi and welcome :welcome:
Wrong adhesive, that's all. In the evostick tup you will find a plastic sheet to cover the adhesive with to keep it moist and useable, in effect that is what happened with the plastic film. As the guys said, use cement adhesive, it sets by chemical reaction, not air, and mapei mosaic adhesive is brilliant, white, too, which does not dull the colour of the glass from behind. I 'm afraid you'll have to bite the bullet and dig it all out again, it should all still be reasonable soft. Cover the glass with more sticky tape and lift it off with a scraper from behind and then carefully clean it all. It's a hazzle, I know, but hey, we live and learn...

PS: your builders merchant obviously didn't have a clue...

:welcome: Hi crowman like as been said they sell the muck so they will push it, good advise from everyone here the're not trying to sell you anything, if you have the tub take it back and ask them kindly to replace it with the proper stuff and maybe compensate for the tiles. Hey good luck with that:mad2:
