how do you price yours?

when priceing a floor do you charge extra for tiling on a 45 ,brick bond or a 3 or 4 tile pattern.

do you increase the m2 rate or price on a day rate .

i always price tiling sqare and brick bond the same but price 45 and 3/4 tile patterns on day rate.

look at the m2 to tile, multiply by my m2 rate for the material/subtrate.

take off material costs/traveling etc and divide by my day rate.

round off up to nearest full day and add on differance

if the job can be done in the time scale quote as such, if not add labour at day rate to cover.

if i can't make what i want on m2 rate then it goes to day rate,each job has to be judged on it's own merits though a large floor with a pattern will still make good money as will 600mm x 300mm wall tiles done brickbond

dont really charge any extra for diagonal floors unless they have a border ,brick pattern floors or multisize work doesnt really warrant extra either imo ,only time i charge more is for the type of material( different prices for ceramic as opposed to marble /porcelain) or if the floor needs preparation

meterage as a start point... all really depends on tile choice/substrate and the level of difficulty and time involved...in fact now I come to think of it..how do I price my jobs!?...just rely on past experience as much as poss for unforeseen problems..then double the price I thought of first:lol::lol::lol:..only joking!..I'm thinking of having 'we are a non profit making organisation' printed on the bottom of my work stationary:lol::lol:

I'll work out what it would cost on metreage, bearing in mind how long the job will take me to do. If the metreage price works out at more than my day rate per day I'll stick with a pricing the job on metreageIf it doesn't i will revert to day rate

As long as I don't lose out I'm happy

you are still covering the same area with tile so no diff how you lay it . you could price yourself out of the job . so when your sitting at home thinking did i go in to high on that one ??? you would do the ones that take just a little more time for your normal rate. most customers get around 3 quotes now days and the extra £ 100 could loss the job for you.. good luck
