It depends on the job, I've worked all over the UK mainland, Northern and Southern Ireland and some, if I'm home ( Teesside ) I'll travel an hour or 2, up here that will get you a long way. If I'm down South, the same time will only get me 30 / 40 miles, if I'm lucky sometimes. If I've gone international :drool5: then I normally travel over in the van with the tools and fly home for the weekends, those days have gone now though.

Alan you missed Dublin and Cork he he

Mike i am 30 miles away as well try to park at hanger lane then tube it then it aint as bad time wise
ive been down the tube route too

I bought a rubi pocket 50 as it was easy to carry, that and a small toolbag was all that was required then

things changed and I needed a van full of tools

I bought a large site box which went down on day one and came back on completion and I could go by train

parkings always been difficult but has become a nightmare plus the congestion charge

working in knightsbridge cost 50 a day plus cg which had to be added to my dayrate

the city of london was worse as I couldnt take my van within the ring of steel

I wont even consider london now as its 5 hrs or longer travelling everyday plus the on costs
