How much to spend on a new blade?

50M^2 travertine. Dusting off the old wet tile cutter, it's cutting OK, but a bit of a push.

Assuming I'm not going professional here! What's it worth for a serviceable (non frustrating) 180mm blade? £4.50 for two? (Screwfix green things) £20, £50?

If you go to trade tiler (link to the left in the sponsors section) they have blades in 180mm ranging from £35 to £130, if it's only a one off job, go for one of the cheaper 2.

Hi,
Best blade for wet cutting i have found is the Marcrist blade, they are not cheap but they last forever, the only thing to watch for is the blade width, as on some wet cutters(like mine Rubi D180) the guard holder is sometimes thicker preventing you pushing the blade through the full length of the tile being cut.
However you are only cutting travertine which is quite soft so you should be fine dry cutting without water.

Thanks. it's obvious you get what you pay for, I'm not expecting to break that rule.

Every now and then I succumb just to test the theory and I buy one really cheap tool, then invariably throw it away a month later. - The effect wears off though!
