How necessary is BAL ADMIX GT1

Hi,

I'm not an experienced tiler, more of a Handyman.

A customer of mine has asked me to finish off the grouting on a patch of floor tile that is no bigger than 1m x 0.5m, so pretty small.
Becuase she wanted a specific grout colour, I suggested she visit Topps and pick one herself. Thing is, she came away with an order (the colour she picked is not a stock item) but was talked into purchasing 1ltr of BAL ADMIX GT1.
Now I know nothing about this stuff other than I have read on the BAL website, but given that the cost is more than the grout, and is only for a small area, is it really even worth bothering with it?

Is the floor laid onto wood ? Underfloor heating ? Would have been better with Mapei ultra colour !

What grout was she sold.. Topps also sell super flex 1 part by BAL, the 2 part mix is a lot more expensive..

Hi. Basically this product will give the grout greater flexibility but make sure that you have a grout that is suitable to use with the admix GT1 as not all grouts are suitable.

Need to know the substrate that the tiles are fixed to as to see if the admix is necessary.

Floor is concrete, Topps have sold her BAL MicroColour Wide Joint Chocolate. Don't ask me if it's milk or dark, as I have no idea :lol:

are the tile porcelain, if so then the GT1 needs to be mixed 1 part addmix to 2 parts water, if there ceramic tiles then you dont need it.

I know! He looked about 16, telling a tiler which adhesive to buy. I was lost for words.

They have also told me that toppfix is better than Mapei keraquick and I shouldnt waste my time mixing up adhesive when I can just buy it ready mixed.
