how to download ipod songs onto a new pc Page: 1

hi

is there anybody on the forum who knows how to download your ipod tunes onto a new pc??? i have been told it can be done but it needs a particular soft ware?? anybody know how/what software is needed

Hi Ed,

With your taste of music I wouldn't bother :lol: :lol:.

Your best bet is to google it mate. I did this recently but can't remember all the steps. The basic steps require you to install iTunes on the new pc, then delete a couple of files including a library file. You then locate the exact same files on the old pc and copy them across. Once done, the next time you open iTunes all your tuns will be there .

If you can't find the step by step instructions, give me a shout and I'll dig them out for you.

You can do it using a program called xplay3 been a while since i used it last but remeber there wasn't much to it, but !!! there was a quirk IIRC in so much as the format it saved as, google it and have a read up, it might do what you want.

Do you have an itunes account already Ed? If so you just need to download itunes to your new PC and then associate your iPod to the new pc. It will ask various questions about transfering your catalogue and purchases etc.
