How To Install Quarry Tiles For Window Board

I've picked up 10 quarry tiles (220 x 220 x 40 thick) from a local reclamation yard to install as an internal windowboard. What's the best way to fix these to the top of the internal blockwork wall? A bed of mortar and point up the joints? However, the bed cannot be thicked than 5mm and the joints between tiles will only be around 2mm. Or tile adhesive and grout? If so, anything out of the ordinary I should know about?

I'd use a tile adhesive, a flexible one.....

Did a lot of this in the 70s lots of school always had quarried cill,s used pit sand and cement but always had about 10 mm bed,powder tile adhesive is fine bed the tiles one by one.

Used some Weber SPF and grouted. Looks cracking and the customer is very happy!
