Varley

Hi everyone, just a quick hello and a brief introduction. I am from Co. Durham and trained as a tiler at North East Tiling Training about 6 months ago and have since been working weekends as a tiler on top of my Mon - Fri job. Been going really well and I absolutely love it. Recently went back to North East Tiling Training to do the Natural Stone course just so that i could offer more of a service. Am really hoping to go full time self employed but am really nervous about taking the leap and not having the security of a static wage. To top it all off just as i was ready to go for it, about 2 months ago, my wife falls pregnant which now makes it even harder to make such a leap. Anyway I think I have rattled on enough for my first post, look forward to exchanging views and ideas with evryone!

Hi Varley, i started tiling about two years ago, it was a bit hard to start with i had to get a partime job to keep a bit of of money coming in only two days a week, it is a struggle getting started, so keep your overheads low, and dont give up, good luck

yeah, I'm also kacking it! I think you just have to accept that the first few months will be hard but once they have passed it should start to look good, of course this all depends on how well you market yourself. I will hopefully be getting made redundant so a wee bit of cash would help there.

hail hail.
