It does make sense that on cladding there would be a temperature difference from inside to outside and we all know everything shrinks or expands with heat and cold but I never really thought of it on a floor being an issue. With cladding the stone is usually held away from direct contact with the building wall so air can come between the wall and stone. I have seen many bowed (cupped) slabs when cutting granite tops but usually it is from a resining process used to make the stone stronger or to fill natural pits.
