iPhones, iPads May Get Magnetic Chargers

The magnetic chargers used on Apple's laptops may be coming to the iPhone and iPad, according to reports.

Handy feature for the laptop. If you trip on the cable you don't throw the laptop across the room, it just unplugs. Can't see it being too useful for an iPhone though as the cable wouldn't normally be drooping to the floor like on the macbooks. iPhone cables are about half a meter compared to 2 meters or just under for the macbooks.

Yep typing on mine now and it's a great feature. Downside is if wife trips over it, just detaches itself from laptop and I can't claim on life insurance.

The charger port thingy on the iPhone gets so clogged up with pocket crap though. Would save those tense toothpick moments scraping at the contacts.
