HI all, just before xmas I did a small frount hall on wood customer rang me Sat to say some of the grout has cracked and could I have a look I used flexy add and flexy grout but it has cracked there is no movement in the tiles, here's the thing the day I tiled it when she came home she dropped 6eggs on my nice new floor and then mopped the mess up whithin 1.5 hrs of the grout being finished I got no problem regrouting for her but this is my first my come back and you know these thing make you wonder. by the way I am tiling he kitchen in a week or two . so I like to have it 100% olgit:huh2: :huh2: :mad2: :mad2:

Suppose it is possible that the cleaning has weakened the grout as it would not have fully hardened off. Maybe that is why BAL suggest not using a shower for 2 weeks after grouting!

Is the cracking in the area where the eggs were dropped?

It wont be the eggs but my guess (and I bet yours too) is that it's the mopping up.

I'm sure you already know.... (read the bag but I think) after grouting tiles you need to leave them for 24 hours before cleaning them / buffing them up etc.

And certainly don't wash them with even just a damp cloth let alone a mop after and hour and half.

Though I can understand her needing to, it's just it wasn't tiler error.

Well done for regrouting it though - it'll pay you back within months I bet ya.

Just to add to grumps words..the 2 weeks is more for the adhesive than the grout in showers....especially if using dispersion...it needs to gain strength so to speak......
