Totally right to be sacked for taking a swing at anybody at work, but to be fair he was a great presenter for top gear and made the shows what it was..the loud mouth, self centered, racist hooligan...hmmmm i hear there's an opening at number 10 in the next few years. Vote Clarkson

It's the BBC, if they don't protect their workers and set an example of workplace protocol then where will it end. It was bullying at its worst and they have acted in a decisive and correct way.
It may cost them millions, which the TV licence will have to pay, and would it happen in the private sector.

Think it's all been blown out of all proportion. ....bit of a fracas. ...shake hands the next day and all's rosey......I pay my licence fee to watch excellent programs like top gear not a load of repeats and soaps. ..

But punching someone at work mmmmmm..... especially after working all day and being given a sandwich or whatever it was rather than a steak, he deserved that punch.

He will be replaced without a doubt. If he couldn't be replaced there would be no such thing as promotion at work.

I really like the guy and the programme.

It hasn't come out yet what really happened so it's hard to say. If it was a bit of shouting and the odd push then it blown out of all proportion, if he actually stuck one on him then he deserves to go, no one is indispensable.

I also hope he didn't threaten to 'get' him the sack, either you're in a position to sack someone directly or your not, making a threat because you think you're more important and those above will side with you is just a bit ****ish.

I liked top gear a lot but not enough to pay a subscription to something like Netflix which has been mooted. In any case I rarely watched then live as i'm always bloody working, so most of the time it's catching up via Dave!:lol:

Clarkson may just realise his popularity was largely because he was on the BBC
