hi guys,

would love some advise.....i have pulled of all the old tiles in a bathroom and quite a bit of the wall has come with it leaving porous render and i know the tiles won't adhere to this surface. How do i go about making this surface ok to retile. The render is on breeze block and is about 10mm thick.

I take it your talking about cement render ? Prime with suitable acrylic primer and tank the areas where shower and bath will go !

Hi and welcome.....if the render is flakey and powdery then I would consider ripping it off and using dry wall.
