village tiling
morning all.
been doing work for a building company for a few years now, i went to do a kitchen floor insurance job for them yesterday, when i got there the kitchen fitters were finishing off a few bits so i started prepping up while they were finishing off, i gets my tub of primer out of the van one of them turns around and says "whats that?" so i said "its a primer for the ply" (insurance wouldnt pay out for overboarding etc...) then he sniggers and says "we just use PVA" so i tried to explain why you shouldnt use PVA "weve always used it, never had a problem" so i said " why do you do your own tiling?" he said "yeah, infact weve been asked to tile the rest of the ground floor coz insurance wont pay it and your too expensive"....."oh rite" i said and just plodded on setting out etc.. next thing im spreading/cerating the floor, joiner pipes up "why are you doing that?" ....i said "because thats how you tile" (starting to get a bit ****ed off at this point):mad2: ......."nar we just spot it, never know if the floor is flat or not" :shocked3:....so rather than wasting my my breath trying to explain why he shouldnt spot out etc.. i just let them get on with it....wonder if the customer will be on here moaning about 'bad tradesman' like the lady the other day lol :7: just another bad example of good tilers being priced out of work by know it all 'JACKS'
