Joist height difference

I have got a floor to do soon, that used to be two rooms but as been made into one. The problem is that the joists on one side of the room are an inch higher than the other side.
I am thinking that i could just screw lengths of wood to the lower joists, to make up the height difference, does this sound ok, or is there another way to go about this.
Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

yes phil you can theres no problem with that

the only problem you will have is finding timber an inch thick, you may have to use sawn, or ask a sawmill to machine you some

You could always use this method too especially if the floor was out of level or needed strength added.

or i have run a piece of timber beside a joist when i havent had a saw handy but that was a good post and a good idea would sort of work like a Ibeam
