Hi everyone,

I been browsing the forum and decided to introduce myself.

I was made redundant at the start of November after 16 years in a car component factory.

I decided I've had enough of dead end jobs so I went on a PTS tiling course in Warrington just before Christmas and I loved it.

I've bought my tools (still one or two to get) but I've got the main ones, I've got some workwear and I've just got a nice van so now I'm ready to deliver my business cards and wait for all the work to come in!

I'm pretty nervous to be honest :48: so I'm going to start by doing my mum's bathroom to get a bit of confidence

I'm sure if I have any questions I'll post them on the forum

Hello mate, welcome to the forums. PTS Warrington vet. myself. Good luck with the career move. Oh and don't sit and "wait" for the work to come in....it won't! Need to get active and get out and find it for at least the first year.

i would get some more experience before going it alone doing a short course and going on to the tools is asking for trouble, but ull realise that after you do your mums bathroom
I did it and so have countless number of others. To try and get experience with someone else can be very difficult, and they may have been trained differently than you so you would be re-learning.

He just needs a bit of courage, confidence and to take his time. We all started somewhere. He will be fine.
