Kitchen/Bathroom wal tilesl insulating backer boards info

Hello all you tilers,
I have a kitchen to tile with three outside walls and a bathroom with two outside walls. The house supposedly has cavity wall insulation but I want to add more insulation with thin thermal wall tile backing panels. I am planning to use standard ceramic tiles. Are there any suitable 4-6mm backer boards out there please?
I have so far only found Marmox backer boards in 4 & 6mm. Would these be ok or are there any other better/cheaper ones about? They would be fixed onto plastered walls with adhesive.
Many thanks, Tenterdentyler.

Why put do you want extra insulation on the wall at 4-6mm thick..

Insulation attached to plasterboards is about 20mm thick to make any difference.

Hi and welcome..

Hi Whitebeam, thanks for the response.
All the kitchen walls are plaster on brick, not plasterboard. One wall is a party wall with the garage & has no cavity wall insulation as there was no external access when it was done. Last winter we suffered condensation & mould on this and other walls behind the floor units due to temp difference. Also the bathroom & kitchen are on the north east corner of the house. While not wanting to use 20mm insulation I think that even 6 mm will help. We are early retirees and I am hoping to accomplish this with minimal cost.
Many thanks, Tenterdentyler

hi
marmox, wedi, shluter, dukkaboard etc are all good but unfortunately they are at the top end in price due to their thermal performance, water resisitance, weight and strength...they are the best so i suppose that reflects in the outlay. i would look at the overall peace of mind compared to the initial outlay. they'll solve your problem of insultation and moisture resistance.
