Had a call the back end of last week from a kitchen fitter asking if i could tile a kitchen floor for him, he then goes onto tell me its nice and flat as the builders have just put a new screed down so wont take me long.

When did the screed go down i ask ? Last Friday was his response !!!!! I tell him there's no chance i can do it for at least 60 days to allow it to dry properly.

He then turns round and says to me well there's no way i can wait that long i'll have to tile it myself !!!!!! He started tiling it today :mad2:

What screed was it, sand/cement etc..

some screeds you can tile on after 24hrs....

or if you use the correct adhesive, bal greenscreed, for example..

Was a sand/Cement screed 65mm deep as far as i know thats what i was told anyway

Bal Greenscreed, not Green Star, that's the worst tile adhesive made!!

It doesn't work on walls, maybe stamping on it makes it better.
Anyway i've used Greens screed and i've had no hassles, but the tiles were not porcelain. As a product it's been around for years, also using Ditra matting is another option. But i'd rather have a dry floor.

He said he was going to use some Topfix rapid set as its flexible :mad2:

And tiles are porcelain
