You have to be careful when trimming them as the joints can break and once broke they don't glue as neatly as first time...

It also depends upon the profile of the pelmet rail some are very easy to cut around and some you have to remove to get a neat finish...

Some guys on here use a fein machine but i personally use a tenon saw...fine teeth leave a neat cut edge....taking great care not to break the joint...

some mitre fix ( what kitchen fitters use ) is handy to carry to repair any joints...trim the old glue of with a craft type knife and then re-glue....
but if you are careful the joints are usually pretty strong...:thumbsup:
