Hi,
Will soon be starting to tile kitchen splashbacks and have some questions.....
There is a gap between kitchen wall units and stainless steel cooker splashback. Should I start tiling level with the wall units and leave a gap still, or should I tile from stainless steel splashback itself, and if so how high should I take the tiles between the wall unit and the cooker splashback?
Also a few other things I wanted to check before I start....
1. Begin with full tile right above worktops, unless there is a stupidly narrow cut underneath wall unit, in which case start off with a cut tile above the worktop so there is a decent cut under the wall units.
2. Start with a full tile next to cooker splashback unless there is a stupid cut at the wall, in which case start with cut tile.
3. Silicon gap between tiles at corner of wall, and between tile and worktops and between tile and underside of wall units
4. I have ordered keraflex maxi adhesive in the grey, and my grout is going to be white - it has suddenly struck me the grey adhesive may show through the white grout. Am I ok with grey adhesive or should I order white to avoid the problem?
5. Tiles are 10cm square and walls are pretty flat, but used to have old kitchen tiles on, so not smooth as a baby's bottom - was intending on using a 6mm or 8mm trowel. Which one would be best?
Cheers
