knee problems

my right knee as swollen right up , can feel fluid on it , any body else with same prob, what are my options can i get it drained off, stopping work is not a option this time of year,

do i soldier on untill new year

I've had it twice!!! Had to get it drained off.. Health,s more important mate..

i would deffo go to the doc's and see what he says, he is the pro with health problems not us ,we would give you bloke answers lol

I've just started suffering from sciatica and it's bloody painful, got to get to the docs now Rob!!!

i still have tennis elbow after 6 months, and arthritic right knee ! that swells-up and gets stiff every few weeks,then gets a bit better, i just think i have to put -up with the pain! then Die lol.........

i m still hobbling about a year after surgery on left knee .
just got back from watching a dissapointing performance at twickenham between s.africa and england .
what with my dad hip replacement and my knee we only just made it to twickenham station and now deadening the pain with a whisky

Went to the Doc a few years ago with the same problem,Housemaids Knee I assume? I was given 2 options, No1 drain it off and possibly introduce a infection or No2 just let it settle down on its own. I took option No2 cos I'm a wuss!!!!! but it took months for the swelling to die down tho

rob, the only way to get rid of water on the knee is a pair of drain pipe trousers...

ok that was bad, but couldnt resist it...doug, ffs put them away, i was having breakfast ..lol

rob, i suffered with this for years, it was the worst time of my life, ive had so much fluid on my knee i could hardly walk, it was so bad i had to have an opperation 2 years ago to remove the bursa sacs that produce the fluid, since then touch wood it hasnt come back..

if i was you i would go see the doc, he may drain it, some docs will, some will say you have to have it done in hospital, trouble is they can sometimes drain it and with in an hour it can be back again, what you really need is a steriod injection in the knee, this will settle it down with in a couple of days, and should last 2/3 months, be warned this hurts like hell even worse when he misses the spot and the needle hits the bone...:yikes:

failing that they will tell you to rest it, trouble is they have never been self employed and dont understand you have to keep working, i used to put a tight bandage on mine , one of those sporty type jobs you can get from the chemist, and soldier on, and rest as much as poss, just work and rest.......it will go, but it could be days, weeks, months......good luck mate ,ive been there....and know what its like...
