Large Format Limestone - 56 x 84 cm

Hi all,

We have just purchased some very large limestone tiles and wanted some advice as to which adhesive to use. We were going to use a thick bed adhesive for natural stone but as they are so heavy am now unsure if this is the correct one to use?

Any thoughts would be much apreciated.

It depends on substrate, but yes PTB adhesive is suitable for these tiles as it will give 100% coverage,
I would also consider adding some admix for extra flexibility and adhesion

bal PTB flexable floor adhesive in white....... very good for fixing large format tiles.

What is the substrate involved and is it wall or floor tiling that you are undertaking?

Welcome to TF. Thems big boys.Floor or wall ?What are they going onto.? Please dont try to fix these as a diy project.

As above, what are you tiling onto? I totally agree with Del above. Tiling with large format stone is not a DIY job. There is so much that can go wrong. I wouldn't even consider tiling with these yourself, get a pro in

Thanks for all your quick replies. They are floor tiles, natural limestone and the type is 'umbrian' limestone if that helps?. I have done a lot of floor tiling in the past but nothing this heavy or large!I haven't asked the supplier for any advice but they don't stock anything other than PTB adhesive so thought that this would be ok?
