I'm new to the forum and I've noticed a few questions re legal bits and pieces such as shower installations and the like. Perhaps a thread where people can ask these sorts of questions would be useful as a quick reference point?

Tilers Forums tries not to get involved in the legal sides to installations (i.e. electrics regulations, pursuing dodgy tradesmen). The forum is here to offer advice and views around tiling work done or to be done. We cannot profess that we have the required knowledge to satisfy any legal requirements.

Any information you will find on here about legal complexities will be what individual's have acquired for themselves when in different situations. We always advise that if people need more professional advice, then they should speak with a relevant tradesperson directly.

If people need help with the electrical side of installing electric shower units, then members are quite welcome to join our sister forum www.electriciansforums.co.uk where they can ask their questions of the members there and seek tradesmen for any jobs. We also have a plumbing, plastering and contracting forums.

So essentially, Tilers Forums is about tiling but we do know enough people to be able to point somebody in the right direction to find information suitable for their purposes.

the information you require regarding building regs, bye laws etc are readily available from your local building control. the problem with have a central resource on here is that regs change from time to time and from area to area. its always best to cover yourself by getting proper advice first hand from a professional source

Thanks for the replies ladies and gents, hear what you and yep, you're right, especially as things do change so often. Just an idea anyway, if I get stuck I'll ask.
