I wasn't sure. But having just looked it up on the CSCS website it would indicate to get the Blue craft card you would require a VQ level 2 or 3. Unless of course you have been actively in the trade for more than 5 years and can demonstrate what's required. If so you'd be able to achieve the blue card after completing an EWPA (Experience Workers Practical Assessment).

thing is im 25 got a family 2 kids a house ive been in the building trade for 7 years apprentiship aint an option ive been told that i can gain a nvq by paying for an assessment on site , ive been doing jobs for a building company for a while but its only a couple of jobs here and there i need more regular work .

lol ok i take that with a pinch of salt bud im 25 ive been in the building trade for 7 years since i left school i doubt an apprentiship is the right step for me but thanx for your comments but i think im just going to get the assessor to come out to me on site just thought i might of been able to get out of paying 800 quid for him

I personally think 5 years is too short, plus the actually practical assessment is out of date. Can't remeber the last time i fitted 6"x6" white ceramics in diamond pattern. Think a bit more knowledge on larger formats and different tile materials is essential nowadays.
