I have to tile a floor, it is an area which used to be two rooms which we have now turned into one larger room. Where we have removed the dividing wall there is now a 15mm difference in height between the two floors, what would be the best way to make up the height difference before tiling?

How big is the area in total and the 2 separate slabs?

Hi, each slab is roughly 12m2, both concrete.

You could go down the self level route or you could maybe use a backer board stuck down with a flexible adhesive.

I would use self levelling compound. I use this one. Broken Link Removed

Yes just use a self leveling compound

ok, thanks guys, i'm new to this, that's gonna be a lot of slc isn't it? is it possible to mix sharp sand in with the slc to reduce cost?
