Currently using stabila 70-2. They are good levels for cleaning down etc but tbh, I find them a tad flimsy so looking at upgrading, so what are you all using? I'm looking at a high end set, maybe the stabila r beam or the 96-2.

Strangely enough I was looking at this Stanley Fatmax Extreme Box Beam Level 1800mm/72in 0-43-672 + Gift Set this afternoon. I've got the 1.2m version and it has a solid feel to it and it is guaranteed for life(whatever that means!)

I've got 2 foot, 4 foot and 6 foot, ones, can't fault them, everything seems to marry up at end lol!

I use stabila, 2 H beams 600 & 1000 & 2 other stabilas 1200 & 1800.
They are great levels, still spot on after a good few years of use.

My plumber keeps saying I need a new level cos the bubble is always between the lines on mine so it must be faulty :lol:

The fat max ones do look very robust and the vials look very clear.

Mum just asked me what I wanted for Christmas from her. As its her last Christmas and it's what my dad received on his last Christmas I thought it fitting she got me a couple of levels I can keep for life.

Fat max 1200 and 1800 ordered.

Got a set of 196-2 last year and can't fault them. Toolventure done the best deal on a set of 600, 1200 and 1800.

It's either 196-2 or the fat max. I like the look of the r beam stabilas too though

Charlie I was always stabila but bought the fat max extreme earlier this year, what I like is they do a two meter long version so I bought that, a 1200 and a 600. Very well made and sturdy, got a great deal from buyaparcel.

I Always used stabila, but purchased a Stanley fatmax extreme 1800 , best level I've used by far, now have the full set of xtremes!

I've got a couple of 70-2's which I'm not too impressed with, but I bought an 1800 80A, which is great! I will be replacing all my other levels with 80A's...

I use stabila 70-2's also have a rubi 1600 for baths but found it rubbish, ended up cutting down a stabila.
Intrested in buying a fatmax if the bubble is a bit easier to see.
Eye sights not as good as it was in my teen's or twenty's or thirtys.:lol:

Got fed up buying new levels cos they had gone out. Did have Fat Max previously. Only thing with Empire I find irritating is they have a chamfered edge and quite a long end protector which is not on a level with the rest of the level.

Always used Stabila but have now gone on to Fat -max great levels Screwfix are doing a good deal for 900mm at the moment got one for £28 reduced from £43.
