Hi! I am a Tile Forum Virgin who needs help!!! :mad2:
I am planning a new kitchen and thought it would be easy.
I want HARDWEARING easy to care for floor tiles 600 x 600 in fairly plain mid grey with no pattern and a worksurface to match. I have looked at Corian type worksurfaces which I would prefer but cannot find tiles to match. John Lewis do a work surface in quartz (pebble) which is very nice but I cannot find anyone who does the floor tiles to match. Can anyone help me please!!!! I am a pensioner with a limited budget so cannot afford to make a mistake.
I live in the Bedford area.

Hi and welcome.. Granite would be your best bet to get matching tops and tiles.. IMO..

Hey and welcome aboard. The top few banners/logo's on the left of the forum at tile shops.

I'd go with granite as dave says or porcelain which is really really hard wearing (a full bodied porc though, not just a porc glazed tile).

if i were you, google your local stone suppliers in your area. for example, we have a place in liverpool who specialise in marble, granite and composite stone and then can supply work tops and tiles to match, so that would be your best route imo

many of these local stone suppliers are open to a bit of haggling, especially in january so maybe go there and just enquire about tiles and then hit them with an offfer of a discount if they can match the work top too....worth a try isnt it

Thanks! but what is a full bodied porc as opposed to a glazed porc? Is it matt? As I said I am clueless!! Have been told granite needs a lot of looking after or it stains because it is porous. Is this true?
