This is my 1st post so hello to all!!

I recently priced my 1st job and the customer was happy with everything, however i then priced another job that was a new build house, needing a big kitchen running into utility, with splashbacks, and two bathrooms tiled. All the materials were supplied for me,all i had to do was turn up and tile. I was told my price was miles out (i priced £40 p/m2) I was told hal that should have been enough-you would you back in this situation?

that price includes trims and Silicon and spacers and my fuel and drill bits and random stuff like taking loos and bath panels off, then re-fitting them and also my fuel etc etc. i have to travel a lot for the work.
some of my pals charge less by the meter but rush the job then grout and hand them a sponge on the way out, while explaing that they will need a plumber to re-fit the bog and the radiators and that the tiles still might need a bit of a clean(clarted). LOL

Hi neil,
Fair play to you if you do all that:thumbsup:.
After many years i've learned to not get involved in anything but tiling, siliconing is not my job if the toilet has a ballfix i will remove and put it back only because its easier for me along with taking out the radiator.

As for extra cost's i tend to spread them out, as (i don't believethat you can charge one customer for alll your outgoing's).

No matter how well you polish you tiles off there will always be some amount of cleaning required by the client, thats why (after polishing off)i always say to the client"wash the tiles down after 4 or 5 days".

Sorry i agree and disagree in the same post.
