Hi all,
I had my bathroom tiled about 5 months ago and yesterday I noticed cracking in the caulk around the window reveal. When I push on the tiles around it, it closes up the crack (even tiles further down), so looks like multiple tiles have debonded from the wall, almost like the wall is bulging. No cracked tiles or grout.
The other three walls seem solid, it is the wall furthest from the shower. It is a single story extension so its not the warmest of rooms. The outside has had a new window, new guttering and fascias and Silicon render so I don't think there's any water ingress. Definitely wasn't before the room was done when it was gutted.
The tiles are porcelain and I belive the adhesive used was Topps Tiles rapid set flexible and mapei ultracolour plus grout.
Prior to tiling the room had been rendered, dot and dabbed with insulated plasterboard then skimmed. I should point out it was mist coated as initially we were only going to tile the floor. Maybe even had top coats, can't remember.
The tilers have also done my other two bathroom floors, as well as kitchen floor, kitchen cooker splashback and hallway floor and all seem solid. Some of their tile work is over a year old now and is great.
He is coming next week to take a look and said that isn't right.
What could be the issue?
