Got a floor tile soon but the floor consists of 3 rooms that over the years have got knocked into one large room. The end part of the floor is about 30mm lower, i had thought at first i would be able to board over the low floor with nomoreply or hardibacker but it would still need leveller to make the extra up. Its starting to get expensive to put right and i need to keep costs down. Any thoughts on this?

Hmmm well neither really. Not a step more of a short slope if you understand.
The room is only about 6m2 and seems to come up around the edges forming a bowl shape. I would like to use leveller but setting times and having to do it in 2 hits would cause problems.

I use ardex k15 for concrete floors and can go up to 35mm...have a read of the brochure....broken link removed

in that case the cheapest and best way to level the floor is with sand and cement....
get a labourer, hire a mixer and feather the sand and cement into the high area,
i will also reccomend that use use eml "expanded metal" to reinforce the screed,
once dry (48 hrs) you can perfect the floor with a self level, will last 100 years.....
p.s ready mixed (powdered) sand and cement is available from any national builders merchant, its about £5 for 25kg...
good luck!
