Mapei waterproofing kit and UFH

Hi,

This is my first posting on here,and so I know this question may have been asked previously but trawling through I have yet to find the appropriate answer.
I am in the process of planning to completely gut a wet-room used by the owner before me (laminate flooring in a wet-room is a no no, especially when its not waterproof)
I have purchased tiles, adhesive, shower screen and 2no. tubs of Mapei waterproofing kit.
The other half has now been told about underfloor heating and visited B&Q and tried the hand test, and now wants underfloor heating more than new shoes :smiley2:
The question that I'm asking is 'Can I just lay UFH mat onto the waterproof membrane, if so what wattage would be best, and can someone recommend a complete kit', as I have seen some on eBay that is within my budget (or what is left of it) that I could order. This is for about 3.5sq m.

Hi tony .

I would advise that you use a membrane on the floor area as this will compensate for expansion as well with the UFH.

What substrate is the wetroom floor area.?

I was looking at waterproofing the floor which is screed and the walls within the shower screen with the Mapei kit and about half metre either side of the shower.

What about insulation on the screed floor for the UFH, we sell boards that will insulate and waterproof at the same time.

I already have the Mapei kits for waterproofing the floor and I'm trying to keep to the existing level as much as I can and really just need to know the compatibility of the membrane and a UFH kit.
