Here's one for you all....
Went to look at a job today to tile 32 sqm "cuppocino marble" over four rooms. What they have done is screw batons to the floor which is concrete so that they can run the hot water system between the batons. The batons are aprox 4" by 3/4 or 1" or there abouts. He has 18mm chip board which he is going to screw to the batons. The tiles are white and 600 by 600mm. What are the issues with chip board? I have told him to get ply but can't quite remember what it is about chip board that makes it unsuitable. Do I need a de coupling membrane or just a very flexible adhesive? I have recommended a de coupling membrane - am I right? Has anyone heard of cuppocino marble? is it a good quality marble? Or is it just a name?
Any help/advice as to how best to proceed with this would be most appreciated
