Marcarist CK850 wearing out quickly

Hey all bought a Marcarist CK850 fro Trade tiler and used on 40 mtr floor 10mm 60x 30 porcelain approx let's say 8 metres of cuts and 170 mtr floor 12mm 60x60 porcelain lets say 25 metres of cuts and the thing is completely worn out. Has anyone else found this because for the price it is unbelievable and it is a total waste of money.

When you say worn out , is it not cutting very good or no meat left on it ?

I haven't used one of those Jeff, sounds strange that its worn that quickly. I bought the montolit pro-gres over a year ago from TT and there's still a little bit left on that, it must have done 100's if not 1000's of linear metres of cuts. Do you think you might have a dodgey blade?

Never had an issue myself, I have a few Marcrist wheels that have done years of work, they still cut ok.

Hey all just an update. David at Trade tiler has been been great. Hopefully I have just had a bad one and he kindly has replaced it for me which I have to say is brilliant customer service.

Will be using them more often.

Bri hopefully it was just a bad apple. Have gone for the Pros Gres this time so hopefully more luck.

I bought one of these last year to replace what I thought was the worn out Dewalt blade on my D24000. The Marcrist keeps chipping the inside side of the tiles so I put the worn out (so I thought) Dewalt blade back on,and I am getting a better quality finish to the tile edge.

Dave, When I say worn out is in the end was trying to burn it way through the tile not cut them! Like I have posted. Trade tiler been great and I am sending the blade back to them so it can be checked over.

I think that is the best blade I've had for my grinder, I've got a DNA at the mo and have to say, I think the pro-gres is the better blade, not by much but, cuts with less chipping.

From this description I'd say the cutting edge had overheated and glazed over. The blade probably needed "dressing" and it would have carried on.

Just what i was waiting to hear Alan, the blade needs dressing.. often this happens when cutting from one material to the next and clogs up the blade and needs new diamonds exposing..

I find the 850 better once they are half worn, not sure why that is though? I thought the rubi ones were good but stopped using them after i read a thread on here about them shattering

I've got the montolit dna on my dewalt after recommendations on here, it's done hundreds of mtrs i would say and it's still going strong. Expensive but worth it.

Run it through some soft sandstone walling ... that will sort it

I use a CK850 in my wet cutter and grinder. No real problems though it does chip the glaze occasionally.

Rookery. Dry, it is a grinder blade. Dave tried the sandstone bit to see if would clean the blade but unfortunately no success. Anyway it is going back luckily I will update you if I hear why.
