got telescope out of the attic last week G, lads had a scan at jupiter but were a bit peeved that the red spot was't visible,,altho they did see 3 of jupiters moons

We're really lucky living so close to the cliff tops here, with open dark skies, been out just now, really chilly, but the moon is a bit too bright to even see that many stars, still beautiful though, loads of boats out, too, with their lights reflecting on the sea.. Will have a look again tomorrow.

where's your eyepiece Jamie? (not the viewfinder with the cross hairs), a reflector usually has the eyepiece on the tube and an open front, a refractor has a lens on the front of the tube and you look through the eyepiece at the bottom of the tube

just checked its a reflector scope doug,i bought it 3 years ago and it sat in the box gathering dust lol

just set it up as we can use the velux windows now to see out

its not a fancy dancy one...from jessops 100 quid or so will it be strong enought o be of use to see stuff? or shall i transform it into a bong?

it'll be good for viewing moon Jamie, but you'll have to keep it moving to track it, believe me when I say that the moon moves rapid when you view it through a scope

a better thing might be "seven sisters" on a clear night,,,a helluva lot more than 7 you'll see for sure.

gotta say tho', best viewing for the draconids and other meteor showers is plain and easy....naked eye!

can't see owt through a champagne shower,,,usually got my eyes closed..............
