Metro tile trims.

Hi all.
Im tiling my kitchen with metro tiles and fixing them in a brick pattern. Because of the beveled edges and having to start every other row with a half tile I have a problem with edge trims. The beveled ends of the tiles are about 5mm thick whereas the cut ends of the half tiles are 8mm. Is there a favoured way of fitting trims at exposed ends of rows to get around the different thicknesses?

You would need to use a trim that will cover the thickest point of the tile. Or if possible tile whole wall < best option, metros do look great when you do the whole wal.

I normally use a 9mm trim and run a bead of Silicon down the edge. I don't think it looks 100% right but there isn't really another alternative unless you use square edge trim, I think this looks better

I can't tile whole walls unfortunately, the way the kitchen is laid out.

Ive just been looking at metal trims which were an angle without any radiused edge. With these fitted all that would show would be a strip of metal and it will probably be easier to blend in the the two thicknesses of tile with grout. The store only had 12mm in these so I'll leave it till tomorrow and have a better look around.

Right idea but I always use Silicon down the side of trims, if the trim gets a knock it could crack the grout and wouldn't look very good

I've used tile paint on the edges to good effect or square edge trim and fit to the best compromise.

No way round it really. Was using them today on a splashback and thought that a metro profiled trim would be great.

I use Genesis straight edge trims in these situations. They come in various colours and sizes.

Im not a fan of Silicon it always gets where you don't want it. I'll do what you say though but use A flexible acrylic sealant and see how that goes.
