This is for me and my bruv...and all those that are missing lost loved ones at xmas..

One night I had a dream--
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord
and across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints,
one belonged to me and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me all the way,
but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
"I don't understand why in times when I needed you most,
you should leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
"When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

Whatever thoughts are passing from your minds to each other, its all good, I have two bro's and we don't see eye to eye, don't get like us. Its a shame.

Its just that time of year ,this year is the first time without my dad and with my birthday just passin and i got a card without my dads name on it was hard to take, xmas card was, will be harder xmas this year to me i just dont know . you talk to my mam these days she buts a brave face on she crys i can see it, i cry ,our david crys but then i am the older brother i av to be strong for our david and little sis susan

very true words Mike, me and my old man never really saw eye to eye,,but the last time I saw him, we had a really good laugh together, 2 days later he had a massive heart attack (no warnings before) and passed away.

For me and my family its also a hard time,Grandfather died on my sisters birthday 2oth december 2004,Gran Sept2006,AUNT 7th Dec 2005 all to cancer.The worst one was my cousin just 15,got ****ed ,fell in canal and drowned 6 years ago..love you all R.I.P

Christmas is just another day to many until You lose someone your really close to then it becomes so much more.

I'm sure from the pride in your work you do Dave and the passion have for your craft and many other things you have mentioned on here, you Dad and sister will be very proud of you both.

well said prem, ill certainly spare a few quit tears for lost one's of my family this time of year, & the most resent my nephew Steven lynch who found life to much for him to bear and Hung himself god bless him, aged just 37 this year RIP, and remember that those of us who are alive keep them alive in our hearts !!!

We lost our new born son 7yrs ago. So when the festive season come round we all seem to put a brave face on but deep down we all know what we`re all feeling inside.
It is even more difficult in Feb Oliver was born on Valentines days so that day is very hard for us.
People will say that each year gets easier.
All our thoughts are with those who have lost a family member or friend.

Know how you feel Strum. My dad passed away a month a go. I got the call on my way to see him...was half way across A66. Never got chance to say my final goodbye. I understand your loss and your grief. You too Dave. Will get easier as time goes by I'm sure.
