Mitre window sill

Want to mitre ceramic tiles for window sill.

happy with finished edge of tiles on sill itself, but got query for tiles underneath. They will need to be cut to size, leaving a cut edge. Would you advise finishing this edge with sandpaper of flipping the tile to leave cut edge at bottom and finished edge at top to be mitred?

sorry, I'm not understanding ?? why are you mitreing ceramics ?? done properly they are sharp, dangerous, fragile ?? please explain

The tile under should be cut square with a wet saw, then mitred to a millimetre (ish) from the front face. Otherwise you will have a lethal shard edge.

exactly.... so mitreing with a biscuit showing....... but he wants to use sandpaper ??

Thanks for the info guys.

The sandpaper comes from reading other posts which seemed to suggest this is what can be done to smooth a cut edge.

Might be time to consider trim?

That is one way of doing it i have always used sandpaper as such, and I have put the cut edge on the joint, sometimes its a better finish. But most of the time the good edge protects the cut edge. But I very rarely use a wet cutter for the cut edge.
