Just trying to get all answers before starting a DIY tiling job. If your mitering the tiles of an external corner but wanting to trim the top with box edge trim, will there be an edge sticking out at the corner of the trim of 1 or 2mm, due to the tiles being mitred so the grout will be at 45degrees on the corner rather that a 90degree finish.

Hope that makes sense.
Also wondering if best to mitre the box trim or use corners?
Also if using external corners would you also use the same corners for internals aswell to keep it all looking the same?

if youve never mitred tiles before i would advise using trim .
its not the easiest thing to do if your an amateur, some pros have difficulty mitring.
I remember doing a job in woking in the 1980s had to mitre all tiles they were 250mm by 50 mm project tiles in the toilet blocks and kitchen spent nearly the whole week just mitring the long edge .
the client was the most finicky of people but an amazing guy the project was mclarens f1 factory in sheerewater the client was Ron Dennis.

Look at @Schlüter-Systems Finec mitre trim, gives a very tidy 2-3mm mitred edge without all the skill and work involved with regular mitres.
All you need to do is under cut the edge of the tile within about 2mm of the top edge, done!
Ranges from 2.5 - 12mm I think, and comes in around a dozen finishes. (Last I looked)
