moldy joints

Hello members,
Being a tiler from the States and moving here over here a year ago I've had to adapt to new materials and methods in Belfast. This forum has been a "legend" in providing what I need to know. Although why everyone over here tiles directly to primed wood I have no idea! Why not cement board?
While I'm at it, whats the best way to clean up moldy Silicon and grout?

'Astonish' grout cleaner works really well as just a cleaner, but as to the Silicon, personally I would just redo it ...

Many thanks for the warm welcome! In regards to cement board I found it a little cheaper than Marine grade ply (18mm) at the local B & Q.
