mosaic tiles

Hi!
I need your advice. I am going to tile one line of tiles along the worktop in the kitchen. Tiles are glass mosaic (mix 3x3 and 6x6cm). Wall was plastered and then painted with two layers of Dulux trade and Dulux kitchen.
How should I prepare the surface for tiling? Should I do something with the paint? Should I use a primer (for example Mapei tile primer)?
Surface for tiling is only 1.5 sq. m so probably I can use something like Mapei Waterproof fix and grout? In specification to all there products they do not mention glass. Is it because all of them are suitable for glass tiles?
Will appreciate any advice.

THanks. There is a plaster underneath paint. Kitchen was plastered 2 months ago.
