I've dropped mine loads more than that with a case and it's perfect. My mate dropped his blackberry from the car door pocket, about 18 inches from the floor, and he broke his screen as it landed on the edge and the screen must of took the shock.

If the contact is for 24 months, I'd wait for the 5 else you'll be stuck for 12 months or will take a big hit on early upgrade charges.

I have dropped my blackberry more times than I can remember but its still great and I have to say the best phone I have ever had, Usually they are useless after 10 months but this is now over 16months old .

He probably threw it then and made that up haha

I only had the first touch thing when it came out a few years ago and that had HUGE issues but I think they've got that sorted now. Software was the most to blame I think if I remember rightly. Sent mine back 2 days after having it though.

Never been one for the tiny keys they typically have. Don't know which bright spark thought anybody but teenagers and old women could type on them at any speed. Shocking. lol

I can do a 12 month upgrade on my O2 business handset
next month so they told me.

That's one of the main reasons I was very tempted to move over to O2. Is quite a big draw with most carriers hitting you hard for anything less than 24 month contracts now. After 12 months most of my phones have taken a battering from all the dust in my pockets!

I've dropped my 4 three times, used my foot to break the fall and it's still perfect.

I've perfected this move myself since having iPhones, It seems to work much better with the Apple's than any other make, when using the technique with my old Nokia it either cushioned the fall or sent it an extra 15ft across the room. A dangerous gamble everytime

A good case helps too.

Can never get on with cases, you buy a nice slim phone to fit in your pocket then bulk it back up trying to protect it. All the ones i've tried end up with dust behind them scratching the hell out of the phone anyway.

If there are decent ones i'd appreciate a link ;)

Another day to make us all feel that little bit more mortal. Whilst I have never been an Apple fan, he had the knack of producing products that did all the things you wanted in a stylish way.

For me, as a lifelong music lover, the iPod has been the best music played invented. Everything I wanted from my music in a device the size of a credit card. Simply indexing 8000 tracks takes some doing - the attic is now filled where the living room once was. And playlists - like recording a new cassette every day lol.

Jobs was up there with Brunel in my book.
