Perfect Tiling

Just been in my local stockists and was shown a new product called plastic ply (well...new up here). Its a 2mm thick plastic mesh with a self adhesive backing. Apparently you just peal the paper off the backing and stick it onto clean chipboard or plywood...no adhesive, screws or anything. Then you just tile over it as normal. Its supposed to replace the need for 15mm plywood or tile backing boards. I can't see that I would trust it...what happens when the self adhesive gives up...you will end up with a floating floor. Anyone ever used or heard of this stuff...apparently its been fully tested and certified. No idea of price yet. :yikes:

I've used it once before in the bathroom above. It's quick and easy to use.

Effectively id say it's the same as ditra/durabase matting, which is what i would prefer to use. Would imagine, trade-wise, ditra would be cheaper?
