The opening lyrics to this song made me think about new tilers. I would like your opinions on when you think new tilers can call themselves true tilers. ?? And before you say it I know I know the answer is blowing in the wind.

And what if they do not have that.What if they came to tiling on a short course or even a long one ??

Hard to answer, I wasn't allowed to call myself a tiler for the first four years, then after that I'd have classed myself as a junior tiler.

The short courses only give you the basics, takes you at least another 3-4 weeks before your a real tiler IMO

I always thought it meant you had served your 'time' doing the trade apprenticeship, so I guess 4 years?, although I understand things are much different now in the days of NVQ's than they were in the good old days of City & Guilds!
